MAN! I’m easily outcooked by Carter Kay!
This week! It’s all yours, Baby Girl!
I had to start work days for school, so I left this morning surprise for my Birthday Babe! She and her besties spent the day at Adventure Land.
Charlie caught wind that Carter was headed to the Land of Adventures with her girlies for her birthday, and he begged for me to take him. Who am I to complain?!
Mama crashing Bro’s Day!
Prep for the strangest year and the most awful of schedule begins. Masked up and ready!
And this beauty walked her sophomore schedule. She had to do it on her own, because touring was limited to students only, and then in three different shifts based on last name. As Carter entered the building, a “kid” bigger, muscley, and hairy than Andy left! God help her, keep her safe, and keep us all sane!
We have no power.
We aren’t opening the fridge, to keep things cold
We thought we’d jump on bikes and ride to Casey’s for breakfast.
But Carter’s bike tire is flat.
We tried the garage; no power to open it.
We tried the release cable; it broke last outage years ago.
So, out of pure desperation, I front-back-front-back-front-backed my car outta there! Freedom!
We were so hopeful! Coming home, parts of the northside had power! But at our house …. nada ….
No ice! Because … no power.
And everything is defrosting and leaking …
Yep. We’re this bored!
Monday, the Dericho hit.
Tuesday, it was cool and we managed.
Wednesday, it was warmer, and it was getting old.
Thursday, we were losing it! So we went mini golfing and swimming!
Carty’s hole in one!
No Carts?!! Now that’s SUPER SAD!!!
Greatest way to beat the heat (especially without power!)
How bored are we? We are laying-on-the-kitchen-floor-with-the-cats bored!
… so we went in search of dinos!
We were only partly freaked out!
As much as it’s sucked to be without power since Monday (… it’s now Friday morning …), the linemen fave been working night and day. To show our thanks, we delivered pizza and snacks to the guys working just down the street.
Power was restored Friday around noon. I happened to be at the kitchen sink. I felt the air kick on at my feet, then caught the fridge light (we’d been airing it out) from the corner of my eye. I was so excited, I squealed! Carter was at Mia’s and Charlie was at Isaac’s, so I took a few minutes to run every appliance we had, and then picked up our freezer stuff from all over the city!
We rolled in at 8:30am.
And the Dericho hit at 10:30.
