From Johnston Show Choir to Ames for basketball! Up next: Charlie’s full court domination!
2nd place! Whatta day on the court!
Or, Show Choir part 2!
Friday evening, bags were ready, glitter was set out, and curls were rolled! 4am, and the start of Showzam Day, here we come!
A very excited RM girlie, sparkled and curled and ready to take the stage! That smile: Radiant!
I was up at 4:10am on a Saturday to help with hair. We were out the door by 5:55am to get ready at Johnston. Andy was not far behind, ready to set up the stage. We are both tired and cold. But there is no place we’d rather be than right here, right now, ready to see this beauty take the Showzam stage! Go get ’em, Baby Girl!
So very proud of these gorgeous ladies!
Our senior group, Spectrum, took 1st place. Carter and the RM girls took 3rd in all-female groups. Nice first outing, ladies!
Owen had 5 front row seats to the Iowa Wild game, so Andy and Charlie got to tag along!
The girls in Troop 209 completed their Silver projects previously, and today we celebrated them today!
My Baby Girl lead and completed her Silver project, supporting the domestic abuse shelter. Well done, Love!
Awesome ladies of Troop 209!
The kids have practiced all week, and they are on fire!
Too bad the weather had other plans.
We were prepared to leave Friday after school, to hang out to Kevin, Katie, and the boys. Friday at 5:05am, the district cancelled the school day. So we spent the day lounging and playing video games. The choir folks were set to make a decision about travel at 2:30pm. Then they were prepared to make the official call by 6pm. Andy had heard we we still on, so at 3:50pm, he emerged from the basement and said to pack a bag, we were headed home! The kids and I flew around while he cleaned the drive of snow.
4:05, we were packed and ready to brave, ???, the elements to get to Linn-Mar. I texted my show choir folks, and they said NO GO! We weren’t going to be cleared for travel until 11am Saturday, meaning the younger groups would miss curtain calls.
So we FaceTimed these goobers to cancel. Maybe we’ll get to Show Choir soon!
But Daddy’s part of production crew for all the groups, so he got to go to Linn-Mar for set up. He left Saturday at 5am, and his head hit the pillow at 5:45am Sunday morning. The kids and I braved the snow to see Doolittle, then we dove for cover again at home!
It’s the most wonderful time of the world!
With the most wonderful friends around!
Kids gifts! Books and dollies and lock picks!
And our adult drawing was full of booze and steals!
Game time! While most of us played, Grandpa Andy and Poppa Rory snoozed!
Games were so intense that we had ear pains and bloody knuckles!
This weekend! The time is upon us!
Rhythmic Momentum had their final pre-season run through, and if this is their starting point, it’s going to be one great season!
The socks really complete the outfit!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year <3
Uno Tourney, and the winner gets a prize! Prizes consisted of candy, slime, poop putty, glitter, and lots and lots of giggles!
Women’s drawing and Men’s drawing were successes! We were gifted popcorn goodies from Haley and Daddy was gifted scratchers from Brian.
Greatest gifts around the tree!
In a one horse open sleigh, to casino breakfast!
Welcome to the Club, man! I get a little extra sappy on your birthday, Owen. There are no words that truly explain how loved you are. You have given me a title I never thought I would have: AUNT. And you are Charlie’s #1, his partner in crime, and his best friend. Yes, always a little sappy when I reflect on what you mean in our lives, and so thankful for all that you are. Even those smelly farts 😉
